    Ferrous Citrate Injection

  • Composition

    Each 1 ml contains:
    Ferrous (Iron Dextran) 100 mg
    Vitamin B12 100 mcg
    Excipients ad 1 ml

  • Indication

    It's used to treat of Iron and Vitamin B12 deficiency in cows, calves and lambs, and to prevent deficiency symptoms such as: Anemia, Anorexia, bloody parasitic diseases, Immunodeficiency against germs infectious because of changing air conditions.

  • Usage

    For subcutaneous or intramuscular injection

  • Dosage

    Calves: 3-6 ml
    Cows: 4-8 ml
    Lambs: 1.5 ml twice, and another dose after 10 days

  • Contraindication

    - Vitamin E and/or selenium deficiencies.
    - Not given with tetracyclines, because of the interaction of iron with tetracyclines.
    - Intramuscular injections can lead to persistent staining of muscle tissue.
    - Occasionally a soft diffuse oedematous swelling may occur at the injection site. The swelling disappears within several days.
    - Keep out of the reach of children.

    Store in a cool, dry and dark place at temperatures below 30 ° C.
    Shelf life 28 days after first use.
